Abrasive

Diamond plate — Hapstone Start Diamond stones are designed for use in Hapstone, Jende Jigs, Edge Pro, & TSPROF sharpening systems and are excellent for sharpening knives of all steels.

Rapid metal removal — Electroplated diamond provides rapid metal removal.

Construction

Nickel diamond plate — The diamond-bearing nickel plate is mounted to a high-quality aluminum blank with laser engraving.

Format

Mounted diamond plate — The Hapstone Start Diamond sharpening stone consists of a 152 × 25 mm diamond plate, 2 mm thick, glued onto a 160 mm aluminum blank, 3 mm thick.

The aluminum blank has beveled ends for a secure fit.

Refinishing

Recommended finishing progression

For pre-finish, use Hapstone 4000 semi-synthetic abrasive.

For finish, use Hapstone suspension 9, 6, 3, and 1 µm.

Use with water

Hapstone Diamond Plates are recommended to be used with water as a lubricant for the best feedback.

Clean or rinse after use, and store in a dry place between uses to prevent oxidation on the metal matrix.

Diamond Plates are ferromagnetic and should not be used on magnet-based knife sharpeners.
