The Naniwa Chosera stones are premium level sharpening stones highly regarded for their wonderful feedback and fast action. Their variety of hardness options among the different grits allows for advantageous use on both harder and softer steels. With a high grit density, these stones offer exceptional sharpening performance. They are specifically cut to fit Wicked Edge paddles, making them compatible with any Wicked Edge sharpening system. Your stones will arrive mounted on paddles and packaged in a plastic blister pack for convenient storage when not in use. Prior to use, it is important to soak the Chosera stones in water, and we recommend using a water spray bottle to mist the stones during sharpening to keep them properly lubricated.

The coarse grit stones are aggressive and specifically designed for stock removal, repairs, and (re)profiling. They are also excellent at removing deeper scratches from diamond plates. The #400 Chosera stone is a solid, hard, and aggressive stone that offers long-lasting performance. The #600 Chosera stone is softer and provides a sensational "buttery" feedback, making it excel on harder steels. Please choose your desired grit from the dropdown menu. The #800 Chosera stone, while still considered coarse, can produce a very good basic working edge when used with some mud. It is known as a reliable workhorse stone.
The medium grit stones refine edges on most tools and knives to working sharp levels and allow for quick maintenance on dull knives. They are still aggressive enough to perform minor repair and profiling work, and they serve as the foundation for transitioning to fine grit polishing stones. The #1,000 Chosera stone is regarded as one of the best stones in the series, offering aggressive performance while leaving a slightly more refined edge compared to other 1K stones. The #2,000 grit Chosera stone is softer and produces an excellent "good enough" edge on softer steel knives (HRC~55 and below), especially when used in conjunction with the #800 Chosera stone. The #3,000 stone is harder and is the perfect choice for achieving a working edge on high-quality knives and preparing the edge for the polishing stages.
The fine grit stones take edges to a whole new level, making cutting effortless. The #5,000 Chosera stone is softer and provides wonderful feedback. It produces a mirror finish that elevates the edge's performance. It is highly recommended to use the #5,000 stone before progressing to the #10,000 Chosera stone for optimal results. The #10,000 Chosera stone takes the mirror finish even further while refining the edge to "shaving sharp" levels.
